Sun Trilogy oil/canvas/wood
This painting holds strong as a totem-wall relief and references to the searing elements of the Sun.
This trilogy, not only in its three parts, also echoes within the three circular Black Suns found in the center panel.
The two complimentary orange & gold iridescent canvases imbue the energy, colour-heat and feel of the sun.
In my childhood memories of Greece I recall often the expression of the ‘black sun’ during the greek summer months. This painting hints of this expression.
There is a similar intensity found here during the summer sun in New Zealand, warning of the four minute burn.
