I wanted to depict a visual feeling of ripening grapes, its deep colours in maroons, reds and iridescent gold and silver, and the gradations of those colours until ripening time.  This diptych portrays the juicing liquid of wine; the alchemy in landscape, and colour action of grape nectar as they hang off the black wired structures seen in vine landscapes.

I always come back to the small scale studies of teal shades of  'ocean' around me
