Stages of a Painting

readying to mix:
several tubs each of silvery grays, whites and salmon / rouge washes
using recycled turps of a year ago, sitting in a gallon container makes an exquisite medium!
Below the first marks and washes of two large canvases
.
One, a diptych.  The other, below may incorporate an off centre panel.  I'll decide later as this painting evolves.
wide open strokes of oil washes
.... the studio is a heady place at the moment with turp fumes!
I had a couple in the studio today, from the States.  They were ready to purchase this first work below as is... already?!

I guess this painting could have worked on it's own.  A lovely landscape quality to the washes but was not letting it go, knowing this is just the first layer!  the first search and attempt to this work!

What's needed:
to find the next gesture across horizontal strokes, of silvery whites, and white whites over may grays, followed by more light salmon pinks to wash and flow downwards over the entire painting.  I'll continue with these steps over and over until I sense to stop,  as the core painting is already there now, as my patron so rightly noted.  They purchase two other works, and ready for shipment next week.

beginning to navigate through this other work at the same time... these are working off each other,  another layer tomorrow and will post the second phase of these works
the end of this day - perfect!
